This first opinion GP position could be worked across 35-40 hours per week, inclusive of the 1:3 branch Saturday and 1:8 hospital Sunday. You will be rota ‘d to 1 bank holiday per year in the Mandeville Hospital.

​You would be supported by an experienced part-time senior vet who works 10am-2pm, and experienced RVN and trainee nurses. You will also have the support of our invaluable regional manager, and newly appointed regional head vet for any of those clinical queries!

​As well as being equipped with everything you would expect, the practice is kitted out perfectly for a vet with a surgical bias, as our previous vet was an orthopaedic surgeon. Hayes End also has dental x-ray, perfect for those budding dentists out there!

There are no on-call requirements for this role.

​Goddard Mandeville Veterinary Hospital in Northolt provides Hayes End with its OOH care and support with any complex cases you may need to refer.

​There is state of the art diagnostic support at the hospital with a new CT scanner, a diploma holder in imaging providing our CT and ultrasound service, a strong medical team, and experienced surgeons routinely conducting advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, and minimally invasive surgery all available on site.

About the role

This role will enable an experienced surgeon to help take the reins of the exciting surgical caseload at our flagship hospital in East London.

Working 40 hours per week inclusive of weekend rotation, you will support the team with their soft tissue cases, working alongside our experienced team of theatre RVNs. You will be rota’ d to 2 bank holidays per year to support the hospital on those key dates throughout the year.

​The hospital performs all surgery from GP to referral level including SUB placement, liver resections and thoracic surgery. The hospital also benefits from having multiple cautery units including a harmonic scalpel and a full laparoscopy/thoracoscopy/endoscopy kit.

At Greenford you are sole charge working alongside an experienced support team, but you also have the advantage of being just 1.5 miles away from Mandeville Hospital in Northolt, West London.

On Mondays and Fridays, you will have the opportunity to perform your procedures at Mandeville, supported by a large team and working with state-of-the-art facilities.

Tuesdays and Thursdays are neutering days at Greenford, with a day off every Wednesday. Your weekend rotation involves 1:3 branch Saturdays, and 1:8 Mandeville Sundays.

​This role would be ideal for a vet who has completed their VetGDP, is confident with sole charge and looking for more independent routine surgery time, but then has the opportunity for more complex cases with the support of the hospital on your surgery days.
