Welcome to cracking Kennington! This fast paced first opinion practice is looking for a second vet to help assist our senior vet with their growing caseload.

About your new role!

​In the heart of one of London’s best kept secret neighbourhoods in South London is our Kennington practice that has gone from strength to strength over the years, and they are looking for a second veterinary surgeon to help support their busy GP caseload.

This role can offer flexibility between 30-40 hours per week, if full-time this would involve alternating Mondays and Fridays off, and is inclusive of a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 hospital Sunday rotation. You will be rota ‘d to 1 to 2 bank holidays per year in Stone Lion Hospital.

​There are NO on-call requirements for this role.

​Kennington is a fast-paced clinic, that would suit a vet who is no stranger to a busy environment and can work independently and are able to competently manage any emergency cases as well as a large GP caseload.

​Kennington is equipped with everything you would need, including ultrasound facilities, ideal for a vet with a keen interest in diagnostic imaging.

Kennington are looking for a vet who can multitask and communicate efficiently, as the practice spans over 2 floors…you will get your daily steps in here!

​You will be fully supported by a senior vet, senior RVN, incredible trainee nurses, regional manager and regional head vet.

As a branch veterinary surgeon, some of your duties will include:– Carry out consultations, thoroughly examining all pets presented and making management and treatment recommendations which are based on best practice and are evidence-based and in accordance with GVG protocols. – Perform GP surgery on cases as appropriate and within boundaries of personal competence and limitation of overnight care. – Maintain, prescribe and dispense all medications in accordance with appropriate current medicines legislation and RCVS guidance.  – Record accurate and thorough clinical notes and ensure that pets’ histories are accurate comprehensive and useful to colleagues. – Be prepared to refer cases in a timely manner, in the first instance to a GVG Hospital, when there is an inability to undertake a case for whatever reason. – Help to maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment

​Your clients and patients are supported by Stone Lion 24-hour Hospital who provide integral OOH support when Kennington is closed, or if they need to be referred for more advanced treatment.

​As part of your induction, you will spend a day with the hospital team, to ensure you are ready for your first Sunday shift and know how the internal referrals are dealt with.

​For any cricket fans out there (the sport not the insect) the practice is a 10-minute walk from The Oval, and a mere 8-minute walk from Kennington Underground station which is on the Northern line, taking you all over London!

​Our associate vet salary band is £45,000 to £67,000 per annum (FTE based on 40 hours per week) depending on prior experience and allowing room for growth within the role.

VA595 – Veterinary Client Support Centre Call Handler

We have a gem of a role for a highly experienced and client focused call handler, to be the first port of call for our valued clients contacting our Client Support Centre on behalf of their beloved pets, on a part-time basis.

About your new role!

We have 49 sites across London including 3 hospitals, and with growing client numbers over the years our Client Support Centre was created to ease the load of communication for our sites and provide a more efficient service for our clients.

​Our Client Support Centre offers our clients an easier way to access vets and nurses’ services by telephone and video consultations.

​The support centre is situated in our main office in Woodford, where you will work onsite with a team of 12 colleagues plus clinical management for support, to assist in any medical queries you may receive.

As a Client Support Call Handler some of your duties will include:– Speaking to clients to triage unwell pets, liaising with our branches and book appointments appropriately.- Dealing with enquiries and appointment requests through our online chat system.- Promote products and services such as microchipping, diets, ProActive Pets and insurance to clients, making recommendations for suitable products and services offered by the Group according to client/patient need identified during call handling.- Schedule the proactive calling of clients whose pets vaccination status has lapsed, encouraging uptake of a new course of vaccinations.- Issue invoices to clients as necessary.- Enter and maintain accurate pet and client details onto internal computer system that enables the practice to contact and communicate reliably with clients.- Record details in clinical histories of any conversations with clients regarding treatment options or anything related to patient care.- Receive and communicate to practice colleagues in a timely manner, messages regarding matters that cannot be attended to by the call handling team, including but not limited to requests for repeat prescriptions, food orders, and telephone call backs.

In the heart of East London, home of Billingsgate fish market, E Pellicci’s cafe and the Columbia Road Flower Market sits our very popular Plaistow practice, and they are looking for an additional RVN to join their team on a full-time basis.

About your new role!

Our new team member will be no stranger to fast paced GP branch life, building rapport with clients their beloved animals. You will be working alongside an energetic team including 1.2 vets, senior RVN, and enthusiastic trainee nurses.

This role is full-time Monday to Friday and includes a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Wanstead Hospital Sunday rotation with TOIL. You will be rota ‘d to 1 to 2 bank holidays per annum in Wanstead.

There are no on-call requirements for this position.

​Our Plaistow practice has supported the local community for years, providing invaluable diagnostic and surgical care, and being ISFM accredited they have a passion for feline welfare. As well as plenty of opportunity for an RVN who enjoys conducting nurse consults, with a large surgical caseload there will also be ample GA exposure.

​Facilities on site include digital x-ray, dental x-ray and ultrasound. For anything more advanced the practice is supported by Wanstead 24-hour hour hospital, for internal referrals or OOH care and hospitalisation.

As a branch RVN some of your duties will include:– Ensure the provision of a high quality and continually improving standard of nursing care.- Assist the veterinary surgeon in theatre and during consultations, as and when required.- Maintain comprehensive patient hospitalisation records.- Ensure a high standard of comfort and welfare for all pets in our care.- Complete and maintain accurate records of hospitalised patients.- Maintain a respectful and collaborative team environment.- Ensure equipment is cleaned, packed, sterilised and stored correctly when not in use.- Maintain adequate stocks of drugs, diets and consumables and place orders with our suppliers to required levels as necessary.- Assist with the induction of new staff and their subsequent training.- Provide reception duties, as required, ensuring a friendly and efficient handling of clients and their pets, in person, by email and over the telephone.- Support student nurses as a clinical supervisor.

South of the river sandwiched between Battersea and Clapham is our Westside practice, who are looking for a senior RVN to step in and help lead this established team on a full-time basis, in a beautiful area of London.

About your new role!

You will not be short of support at Westside; with 3 vets, 2 RVNs, trainee nurses and reception colleagues, the team is able to provide exemplary service to their patients and clients daily.

This senior position is full-time (40 hours per week) Monday to Friday and includes a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:10 Saturday rotation at the Stone Lion Hospital, plus 1 bank holiday per year at Stone Lion. There are NO on-call requirements.

​You will have the full support from a dedicated regional manager, and OOH care is provided by our Stone Lion 24-hour hospital just a 20-minute drive away.The Westside practice itself has ample facilities to enable the team to perform plenty of GP diagnostic and surgical procedures onsite, including an imaging suite, and blood diagnosis suite.

Welcome to Shenfield! This impressive first opinion practice in the heart of popular Brentwood in Essex is looking for an additional vet to join their already experienced clinical team, on a part-time basis. This 3 day week role also provides some variety, with one day per week working in our incredibly popular Gidea Park practice.

About your new role!

Shenfield and Gidea Park are very popular sites, and therefore they have a great caseload for surgical and medical cases. Due to the nature of the caseload we are looking for a vet who is confident in all routine GP surgery.

​As well as everything you would expect in a busy first opinion practice, Shenfield also has ultrasound and K-Laser facilities.

​You will be surrounded by a highly experienced team with multiple RVN’s and support colleagues, and a part-time senior vet at Shenfield. You will also be supported by a dedicated regional manager whose support is invaluable to her branches in the region, and a regional head vet for any clinical queries you may have, as John has a wealth of knowledge to pass on!

To join our existing teams, we are looking for an additional vet in Shenfield on Tuesdays and Fridays, and Wednesdays in Gidea Park, giving you every Monday and Thursday off. The role includes a 1:4 Saturday rotation at Gidea Park, and a 1:8 Wanstead Hospital Sunday rotation plus 1-2 bank holidays per year and being included in the last resort on-call rotation.
